What do you read?
Being a literal person, trying to learn to express myself visually, I find books to be my source of inspiration. However, there seems to be scarcity of books titled "Abstrct photography"... So far I have read Lyle Baxter's great The Edge of Vision, but can you recommend some other books for a newbie?

The reason for scarcityness is probably that 'abstract photography' is not official definition. It belongs to subgategory of experimental photography on the history of art. Abstract expressionism is one (very relevant though) part of experimental photography.
Concerning what to read Susan Sontag's 'On photography' is good and enjoyable starting point. More about Susan Sontag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Sontag

Thanks Ari, that explains a lot... I've been wondering why abstract photography seems to be quite often concidered as close-up photography (which it does not need to be). And thanks for the tip, although I have read my Sontag..
