Hello folks, i want to pay attention to some technical details when we choose artworks to exhibition 2009. So if you want to be selected to exhibition, try to obey these details.

1. NO TEXTS. Please don't put any texts on photos (copyright, author, date etc). You can put your additional information on comment field. Don't glue it to image. It is not stylish so if there are added texts on photos, those photos will not be selected to exhibition.

2. ADJUST. Adjust your artwork's tones and colors readymade before publishing. Image is very rarely 'ready' for publishing when you download it from your camera. Normally you have to at least adjust levels, sharpening maybe color balancing and contrast.

3. FINALIZE. Finalizing is important. Adding matte (passepartout) is not demanded but as it emphasizes images artistic content, it is highly preferable. It is one relevant part of finalizing. But remember that without matte is better than bad matte.

4. NAME IT. Name is essential part of the artwork. Choose decent name for your image, not the default name from your camera. And you don't have to explain your artwork's content & philosophy on that name either. Choosing name to your artwork is to give a hint for visitor.

Time is money and it goes on, so i had to decide finally The theme of Exhibition 2009. It is:
The moment i have experienced
It is theme that leaves freedom to create new artworks and choose existing ones.

And meanwhile we could think about the schedule and choosing procedure: when the final exhibition starts, is there some proposal procedure (last year i just picked up artworks as a curator/administrator/dictator), when is the deadline for proposals (if we decide that procedure) etc. Give me concrete suggestions please!

Thank you Debra for good proposal! Now we have these suggestions for the theme:
-Reflective Thoughts
-Humorous lives, deeds or purpose
-Some color theme
-Flower theme

All these ideas are excellent, but I think it is useful to continue still the innovation. Let there be bunch of flying ideas!

Yes, A theme is necessary. How about: Reflective Thoughts, or Humorous lives,deeds or purpose. Something like that ought to get us thinking.

Yes, I think now it is time to start discussion about the exhibition 2009 theme and schedule. Some theme is definitely what is needed, but I think it should be somehow abstract as well, so it lets for artists the maximum freedom of expression. Of course part of the exhibition's artworks are existing, but the another part is still on their way to creative minds.
So, I think it is useful to think now the theme! Guys, what do you think about THEME? Let us know!:)

How about another exhibition album like the 'Red' album? Either another color for the theme or maybe some other type of theme? That is such a cool album of everyone's work! Maybe flowers if not a color? There are so many beautiful flower images from many here, but maybe not from enough people for broad representation.... hmmm... maybe color IS a good idea. Or water? How are things going for a 2009 exhibition?

Frank, Nanette, Aliz!
I have made suggestion for the exhibition 2008 artworks. You can see it in exhibition area. It takes time to choose images, because we have more than 1300 images in this site. In exhibition there is now almost 400 images and i have chosen artworks from everyone. Those artist who haven't photographes i have passed from selection, because this site is only for abstract photography. Please tell me what you think!
